New Investigator award

The New Investigator Award is sponsored by the Australia New Zealand Society of Biomechanics (ANZSB).

Eligibility: To qualify for the New Investigator Award the candidate must be the first author of the abstract submitted to the conference. Candidates must be a current enrolled PhD student who has yet to defend his/her thesis prior to the conference date. At the time of abstract submission those wishing to be considered for this award must identify this on the online form. Deadline: same as abstract submission deadline.


Young Investigator award

The Young Investigator Award is sponsored by International Society of Biomechanics (ISB).

Eligibility: To qualify for the Young Investigator Award the candidate must be the first author of the abstract submitted to the conference. Candidates must be younger than 35 years of age and be within 5 years of PhD conferral at the time of the abstract submission deadline. The candidate must have made the major contribution to the research paper, and must personally present the research (oral presentation) at the conference. At the time of abstract submission those wishing to be considered for this award must identify this on the online form. Deadline: same as abstract submission deadline.


Best Oral and Best Poster Presentation awards

Eligibility: Any registered conference delegate, apart from the Keynote Speakers, who has personally presented their research as an oral/poster presentation at the conference are eligible for this award.


Student Travel Award

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and to encourage student participation, ABC12 will award Student Travel Awards to help offset the cost of attendance for selected students.

Eligibility: Awards will be offered for students travelling long distances, those who lack travel funds to attend the conference, and those who demonstrate considerable need. Interested students should submit a brief letter to the committee to describe why they are seeking a Student Travel Award. Letters will be reviewed by the committee and evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
